“We see what we want to see, what we expect to see, instead of what's really there. I don't think we do it on purpose, most of the time. We just get kind of stuck.”

THE WHY, THE WHAT , THE HOW

Mental health: something that was ignored, swept under the carpet, never talked about. To admit a problem was a sign of weakness. Just man up, get on with life, cheer up, think positive. Yeah, right.

The Covid pandemic has forced many to re-evaluate and now the narrative around mental health has changed.

This film was born out of the experiences of one of the cast members who suffered from depression, to show how debilitating the effects can be.  The quote from Lauren Miller says it well.

Everyone wanted to contribute and agreed to work for free. To learn more about our great cast, click here. We had an experienced and professional crew; as shown by the behind-the-scenes photos and video.

Adam wrote the story and first draft of the script. This was then modified, edited, extended by Thomas over a few months, to form the final screenplay.

Casting and pre-production was done over a month (part-time) with pre-shoot location scouting for two weekends prior to shooting.

The film was then shot over some evening and a hectic weekend, the weather cooperating perfectly with the rain as a metaphor of the story.

Editing took several weeks (again, not full time): the time was needed to get the mood right throughout the film.

And despite the subject matter we all had a good time making the film - the BTS video hopefully shows this.
